Geoffry Gertz is a multi-disciplinary designer and design educator with 25+ years of experience specializing in fashion design, visual communication, and branding. He’s designed for diverse fashion markets, from international brands like Perry Ellis, Issey Miyake, and JOOP! to design and creative direction for Limited Brands and celebrity and lifestyle brand entrepreneur Hilary Duff. Gertz’s fashion, including his eponymous RTW line, has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, The New York Times, New York Magazine, and Women’s Wear Daily. Gertz, a Parsons graduate, began teaching part-time at Parsons School of Fashion while working in the industry. Currently, he is full-time faculty and serves as the Associate Director of AAS Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing and Communication. He coordinates and teaches fashion visual communication courses that blend analog and innovative digital media, including CLO 3D garment visualization software. Geoffry has developed curricula for the School of Fashion and Parsons Youth and Pre-College Programs, most notably for Newark School of Fashion and Design High School. In his teaching and personal projects, he aims to celebrate diversity and inclusion through representation and challenging existing fashion systems. He is a contributing writer and illustrator for multiple design publications and textbooks.
